ArtCraft Free Download — Official Sources Only
Every ArtCraft app is 100% free, and that changes where you should download it from: since the official source costs nothing, there is never a reason to touch a third-party "free download" mirror, a crack, or a bundled installer. Below is exactly what is free, where the official files live, and what "free" means legally.
What Exactly Is Free?
| Product | Price | Account? | Official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 craft apps (PhotoCraft, FilmCraft, VectorCraft, LightCraft, PdfCraft, EffectCraft, DesignCraft) | Free | No | GitHub releases per app |
| ArtCraft Launcher | Free | No | craft-launcher releases |
| ArtCraft AI studio | Free to download & use | Yes (free) | getartcraft.com/download |
| Browser builds (6 craft apps + AI studio web) | Free | Craft apps no · AI studio yes | getartcraft.com/apps |
The Only Official Download Sources
All of the following are operated by the ArtCraft project itself. Anything else is a mirror you don't need:
- GitHub — the storytold organization hosts every repository, and each app publishes its installers on its releases page.
- getartcraft.com — the official site: apps overview and the AI studio download page.
- app.getartcraft.com — the hosted web app for the AI studio.
We link to these sources and host nothing ourselves — that is deliberate, and any site offering an "ArtCraft installer" directly is not official.
Why You Should Skip "Free Download" Mirror Sites
Normally, mirror sites exist to put a paywall or an ad-laden installer in front of software you'd otherwise pay for. ArtCraft removes that incentive entirely: the official download is free, direct, and comes from the developers who signed the release. A third-party copy can only add risk — outdated builds, modified installers, malware — and zero benefit. This matters double for a young project whose name is just starting to trend in search; fake download pages tend to follow attention.
What Your Free Download Gets You, App by App
- PhotoCraft — image editor: layers, adjustment layers, filters, layered PSD/PSB round-trip.
- FilmCraft — video editing (desktop only, no web version).
- LightCraft — photo library and raw development, local-first.
- PdfCraft — read, organize, combine, split and secure PDFs.
- VectorCraft — vector illustration.
- EffectCraft — motion graphics and VFX, scriptable via CLI/JSON/MCP.
- DesignCraft — page layout and publishing.
Two of them (PhotoCraft, PdfCraft) are officially early alpha; the other five are in development — the status badges on our homepage are kept current with each release.
What "Free" Means Legally
The craft apps are licensed Apache-2.0, and the main AI studio repository is dual-licensed MIT or Apache-2.0. Both are permissive open-source licenses: you can use the apps for personal and commercial work, modify them, and redistribute them with attribution. Free here is not a trial, not freemium, and not "free with watermarks" — it is an open-source license, verified in each repository in October 2026.

FAQ
Is ArtCraft really free?
Yes. The craft apps are entirely free under Apache-2.0, and the AI studio is free to download and use with a free account.
Do I need to pay for anything later?
The craft apps have no paid tier in their official repositories or pages — the license itself permits full use. The AI studio requires a free account; any changes to that would appear on the official site.
Can I use it for commercial work?
Yes. Apache-2.0 and MIT both permit commercial use, modification and redistribution with attribution.
Where should I download it?
Only from the official GitHub organization (github.com/storytold) and getartcraft.com. Never from a mirror — the official download is already free.
