ArtCraft Download for PC — Windows Installers & System Requirements

ArtCraft download for PC comes in two lines, and they install differently: the ArtCraft AI studio (a 64-bit Windows installer from the official download page, Windows 10 or newer, requires signing in) and the craft apps — the open-source Rust apps including PhotoCraft, the free Photoshop alternative — which publish their own Windows installers on GitHub and need no account. Both routes, with the exact files you'll see, are below.

Download the ArtCraft AI Studio on Windows

The AI studio's current release is v0.41.0. The official download page lists two Windows packages: ArtCraft_0.41.0_x64-setup.exe (standard installer) and ArtCraft_0.41.0_x64_en-US.msi (MSI package for managed deployment). Requirements per the official page: Windows 10 (64-bit) or newer, 8 GB of RAM, 2 GB of available storage. After installing, the quick start is "install & sign in" — you create a free account or log in when you first use it.

If you only want to try it first, there is a browser version at app.getartcraft.com — nothing to install.

Download the Craft Apps on Windows

Every craft app publishes Windows installers in its GitHub releases. As a verified example, PhotoCraft v0.6.0 ships: photocraft-0.6.0-windows-x64.msi, photocraft-0.6.0-windows-arm64.msi (native Windows-on-ARM), and portable ZIP builds for x64, ARM64 and x86 that run without installing. The other apps follow the same pattern.

The recommended route is the ArtCraft Launcher (v0.1.3), which installs and updates all craft apps at once. If you only want one app, skip the Launcher and grab a single installer:

  • PhotoCraft — image editor, Photoshop alternative (early alpha)
  • PdfCraft — PDF workbench, Acrobat alternative (early alpha)
  • FilmCraft — video editor, Premiere Pro alternative
  • LightCraft — photo library & raw developer, Lightroom alternative
  • VectorCraft — vector illustration, Illustrator alternative
  • EffectCraft — motion graphics & VFX, After Effects alternative
  • DesignCraft — page layout, InDesign alternative

Install Steps (Windows)

  1. Pick a route: the Launcher if you want the whole suite with auto-updates, or a single app's MSI/portable build if you only need one tool.
  2. Download from the official releases page. For most PCs that is the x64 MSI; Surface and other ARM laptops take the ARM64 build; the portable ZIP needs no installation at all.
  3. Run the installer. Craft apps require no account and no sign-in — you are editing the moment the installer finishes.

Launcher or single app — which route fits you?

Take the Launcher if you want the whole suite kept up to date automatically — it is the official recommendation, and the craft apps are evolving quickly (PhotoCraft shipped two releases in its first weeks), so an updater earns its keep. Take a single installer if you have one job in mind: PhotoCraft alone for photo editing, PdfCraft alone for PDF work. Single installs stay fully functional forever; they just don't auto-update, so check the releases page occasionally. Nothing stops you from starting with one app and adding the Launcher later — they coexist fine.

Want to try before installing? Six of the seven craft apps (all except FilmCraft) also run in the browser as WebAssembly builds linked from the official apps page. Not sure which app fits your workflow? The full comparison against Adobe & Office breaks down what each one does and how mature it is.

FAQ

Is there an ArtCraft download for PC?

Yes — both lines ship for Windows: the AI studio installer from the official download page, and every craft app's MSI/portable builds from GitHub releases.

Does the Windows version need an account?

The AI studio does (free sign-in). The craft apps do not — download, install, use.

What are the system requirements?

AI studio: Windows 10 64-bit or newer, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB storage. The craft apps are native Rust applications without Electron, so they are comparatively light; each app's README carries its specifics.

Is the Windows version free?

Yes. Craft apps are Apache-2.0 and entirely free; the AI studio is free to download and use with a free account.

Which Windows package should I get — MSI, setup.exe or portable ZIP?

For the AI studio, take the setup.exe unless your IT policy prefers MSI. For craft apps, the x64 MSI is the normal choice, ARM64 for Windows-on-ARM devices, and the portable ZIP if you want to run it from a USB stick or without touching the registry.
